Early Childhood Mental Health

The Early Childhood Mental Health Program (ECMH) is a grant generated program providing services to families of children ages Birth-Five. Each family served in the ECMH program has an individualized plan of care which may include one or more of the following: assessment and stabilization plan, crisis intervention and consultation, mentoring and parenting education and assistance with accessing and navigating community resources.

The ECMH Case Manager lends support to children in this program by assessing their eligibility for services in the public mental health system. Once the child meets the eligibility criteria, the ECMH Case Manager helps support the family through the referral process.   All families in the ECMH program receive a resource guide featuring community resources for families with children ages birth – five.

Potomac Case Management accepts referrals for this program from Parents, Primary Care Physicians, Mental Health Providers, Washington County Public Schools, Head Start of Washington County, Department of Social Services, Licensed Day Care Providers, and Community Partners.
